S5W-03785: Willie Rennie (North East Fife)

Scottish Liberal Democrats

Date lodged: 14 October 2016

To ask the Scottish Government whether it is advising Scottish companies that need loan guarantees to approach the British Business Bank or to wait for the establishment of the Scottish Growth Fund.

Answered by: Keith Brown 27 October 2016

Scottish Companies seeking advice should in the first instance contact Business Gateway, or if account managed the relevant Enterprise Agency. In addition, Scottish Enterprise delivers a Scotland-wide Finance Readiness Programme to assist businesses to identify the most appropriate sources of finance and prepare the business case. Businesses should not delay investment plans and should continue to seek appropriate advice on potential sources of funding.
