To ask the Scottish Government what work it does with (a) the UK Government and (b) local authorities to ensure that online advice and briefings regarding housing (i) policy and (ii) provision take account of the needs of military service leavers considering settling in Scotland.

The Scottish Government works with a range of partners to ensure that online advice and briefings regarding housing policy and provision take account of the needs of military Service leavers considering settling in Scotland.
The Scottish Government has produced a tailored housing guide for Service leavers and ex-Service personnel and for support organisations that provide advice and support to veterans to help them to understand the housing possibilities open to them.
Housing options guidance, published earlier this year, also highlights the importance of taking into account the particular needs of people leaving the armed forces in the delivery of local authorities’ housing options services.
Scottish Government guidance on allocations provides advice to social landlords, including local authorities, to consider and address the needs of ex-Service personnel as part of their housing allocations policies and procedures and ensure they are not disadvantaged. It includes practice examples that highlight approaches used by social landlords to respond to the housing needs of Service leavers and the wider veterans' community.
