To ask the Scottish Government, further to the answer to question S5W-04449 by Joe FitzPatrick on 11 November 2016, whether it will provide an update on what plans it has to consult on extending coverage of the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002 to registered social landlords.
Answered by: Joe FitzPatrick 1 December 2016
I am pleased to confirm that in line with my commitment to consult on extending coverage of the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002 to registered social landlords, today marks the start of this consultation. The consultation paper is available on the Scottish Government website.
The Scottish Government is committed to ensuring that Scotland’s internationally recognised Freedom of Information legislation remains robust and effective. This latest consultation follows earlier orders extending coverage to a wide range of bodies including local authority arm’s length trusts and private prison contractors.
