S5O-00745: Annie Wells (Glasgow)

Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party

Date lodged: 1 March 2017

To ask the Scottish Government how personal and social education in schools can help to tackle mental health issues affecting LGBTI pupils.

Answered by: John Swinney 8 March 2017

Personal and Social Education (PSE) is a taught subject which covers aspects of planning for choices and changes; substance misuse; relationships, sexual health and parenthood; in addition to aspects of physical activity, sport and health.

Together, these topics support all children and young people to have positive mental health and wellbeing, including those who are LGBTI.
