S5O-01006: James Kelly (Glasgow)

Scottish Labour

Date lodged: 10 May 2017

To ask the Scottish Government what action it is taking to support bus passengers in Glasgow.

Answered by: Humza Yousaf 18 May 2017

The Scottish Government supports bus services across Scotland, including Glasgow, through the Bus Service Operators Grant. We also support bus passengers through the national concessionary travel schemes, which provide free travel for older and disabled people and discounts for young people.

Local transport authorities, including Strathclyde Partnership for Transport, can choose to support socially necessary services which are not operated commercially.
