Date lodged: 10 August 2017

To ask the Scottish Government what assessment it has made of the need for pill testing at festivals and venues.

Answered by: Shona Robison 1 September 2017

At this time, there has been no assessment made of the need for pill testing at festivals and other venues. Police Scotland is currently monitoring developments relating to drug testing at music festivals in England and Wales and will be engaging in dialogue on this subject with key partners to explore any benefits for the public in Scotland.
