S5W-12806: Graham Simpson (Central Scotland)

Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party

Date lodged: 17 November 2017

To ask the Scottish Government whether it (a) has considered or (b) is consulting on the provision of a train station in the village of Plains, North Lanarkshire.

Answered by: Humza Yousaf 19 December 2017

Scottish Government is aware that North Lanarkshire Council (NLC) instructed consultants SWECO to undertake the Plains STAG (Scottish Transport Appraisal Guidance) Transport Options Study on their behalf. Transport Scotland provided advice to the consultants at appropriate stages.

Transport Scotland’s response to the final report noted that the appraisal was well communicated, proportionate and sufficiently detailed for this stage of appraisal.
