S5W-12879: Maurice Corry (West Scotland)

Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party

Date lodged: 21 November 2017

To ask the Scottish Government what the target ambulance arrival time is, and how many times this was missed in each of the last 12 months, broken down by Scottish Ambulance Service regional operational division.

Answered by: Shona Robison 5 December 2017

The Scottish Ambulance Service has a target to respond to 75% of Immediately Life Threating cases within 8 minutes.

The Scottish Ambulance Service commenced a yearlong pilot of a new response model in November 2015 following similar changes in England and Wales. This pilot focusses on improved outcomes for patients whilst ensuring patient safety remains the number one priority. The new response model will see more resources available to respond to patients with immediately life threatening cases who will receive a response as quickly as possible.

The information requested is not held centrally for each time this was missed in the last 12 months for each regional division. I would suggest the member contacts the ambulance service directly for this information.
