S5W-14638: Oliver Mundell (Dumfriesshire)

Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party

Date lodged: 13 February 2018

To ask the Scottish Government what specialist provision is offered by each NHS board for the (a) diagnosis and (b) treatment of sarcoidosis.

Answered by: Shona Robison 7 March 2018

Treatment of sarcoidosis varies depending on type and severity of symptoms. The cause of sarcoidosis is unknown and as a result there is no specific test for diagnosis. Guidance is available to clinicians on what options are available in order to test for and treat sarcoidosis.

Information is not held centrally in relation to specialist provision offered by each individual NHS Health Board.
