S5W-15369: Mark McDonald (Aberdeen Donside)

Independent

Date lodged: 16 March 2018

To ask the Scottish Government, in light of the reported delay to the completion of the Aberdeen Western Peripheral Route (AWPR), when work will begin on the Haudagain Improvement Project.

Answered by: Keith Brown 29 March 2018

The main construction work on the A90/A96 Haudagain Improvement Project is still planned to get underway following the opening of the AWPR/B-T project. Work to bring Haudagain forward is progressing well, with the procurement of the main construction contract well underway.

A site preparation advance works contract will also be procured in the coming months with works anticipated to begin in spring 2018, ahead of the main works.

In my statement to Parliament on 22 March 2018, I advised that there is effectively a range of dates when the AWPR/B-T project road is likely to be open. The earliest date is likely to be towards the end of the summer period, however it may be more prudent to anticipate a late autumn 2018 opening date for project opening.
