To ask the Scottish Government how many opioids have been prescribed by (a) GPs and (b) hospitals in each year since 1999, broken down by type of opioid.

The Dispenser Payments and Prescription Cost Analysis report provides, on annual basis, information on the volume of drugs prescribed in the community, including opioid analgesics and for the treatment of opioid dependency.
