S5W-16277: Maurice Corry (West Scotland)

Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party

Date lodged: 30 April 2018

To ask the Scottish Government how the National Advisory Committee for Chronic Pain takes account of the specific needs of veterans.

Answered by: Shona Robison 9 May 2018

We welcome the work carried out by the Scottish Veterans Commissioner and the publication of his report Veterans Health and Wellbeing: A Distinctive Scottish Approach. We will consider the findings and recommendations carefully, including how we respond to the challenges raised.

The National Advisory Committee on Chronic Pain is currently taking forward strands of work to inform policy development and support NHS Boards and Health and Social Care Partnerships to improve the provision of pain services across Scotland for people living with chronic pain including veterans.
