S5W-16299: David Stewart (Highlands and Islands)

Scottish Labour

Date lodged: 30 April 2018

To ask the Scottish Government how much compensation will be paid to Pentland Ferries following the introduction of the Road Equivalent Tariff scheme on the Scrabster-Stromness route.

Answered by: Humza Yousaf 10 May 2018

We are working with the commercial ferry operators on the Pentland Firth to ensure they are appropriately compensated and involved in the fares reduction scheme.

Transport Scotland have commissioned independent consultants to develop financial modelling to underpin a grant agreement with commercial operators. We expect the financial modelling work to be completed around the end of May.
