S5W-16794: Bill Bowman (North East Scotland)

Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party

Date lodged: 18 May 2018

To ask the Scottish Government whether anyone will experience rises of more than 3% in local taxation in each of the next three years.

Answered by: Derek Mackay 4 June 2018

We have secured the agreement of local authorities in the past two years to cap council tax increases to 3%, although because Council Tax is a local tax, the rate for future years in each local authority area will continue to be determined by the Council for that local authority.
