S5W-17581: Alexander Stewart (Mid Scotland and Fife)

Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party

Date lodged: 4 July 2018

To ask the Scottish Government what assurances it can give that blue badge holders will be exempt from emission criteria across all low emission zones in a consistent manner, once a lead-in or sunset period has passed.

Answered by: Michael Matheson 26 July 2018

The subordinate legislation on Low Emission Zone exemptions will be set following passage of the Transport (Scotland) Bill. The legislative process will allow for further stakeholder engagement on Low Emission Zone exemptions to be aired as the Bill undergoes Parliamentary scrutiny, to supplement views already expressed on this topic via the Building Scotland’s Low Emission Zones consultation.
