S5W-17924: Michelle Ballantyne (South Scotland)

Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party

Date lodged: 31 July 2018

To ask the Scottish Government what provisions, such as wheelchair ramps and dedicated parking spaces, have been made for disabled employees at the (a) Dundee headquarters and (b) Glasgow office of Social Security Scotland.

Answered by: Shirley-Anne Somerville 24 August 2018

The Scottish Ministers have acquired accommodation to meet the interim property requirements for the Dundee headquarters and the Glasgow administrative office for Social Security Scotland. These arrangements involve the Agency being co-located in local authority buildings which completely comply with Equalities Act legislation governing accessibility.

This will allow the establishment of the agency and the delivery of the first wave of devolved benefits from local authority premises which fully meet the requirements of the Equalities Act.
