S5W-19359: Kerr, Liam (North East Scotland)

Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party

Date lodged: 11 October 2018

To ask the Scottish Government what progress has been made with the independent review of complaints handling, investigations and misconduct issues in relation to policing.

Answered by: Humza Yousaf 31 October 2018

The Independent Review commenced in September. The Independent Review has confirmed that several introductory meetings have been held with leaders and senior representatives of key organisations. The Lord Advocate and I have also met with Dame Elish Angiolini DBE QC. We understand that investigative meetings with operational staff are now being scheduled and a call for evidence to the public will be published shortly, to enable the wider public to participate.
