S5W-20968: Miles Briggs (Lothian)

Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party

Date lodged: 14 January 2019

To ask the Scottish Government how much has been collected in hospital parking (a) charges and (b) fines in each year since 1999.

Answered by: Jeane Freeman 24 January 2019

No information on car parking charges is held before 2008.

Scottish Government abolished charges in all NHS owned car parks December 2008, so NHS Boards have no income from charges or fine. There remains th ree car parks across NHSScotland that are locked into long-term PFI contracts, which are legacy of the previous governments. Income raised from these goes directly to the PFI contractor.
